ReviewThis credit card is meant for people who use their credit card mostly in the Los Angeles area. This card earns reward points on eligible purchases made at many restaurants, movie theatres, cell phone service providers, cable and satellite television providers, internet providers, and gyms in your city. Other eligible purchases include some newspaper and magazine subscriptions. Points are also earned on many of your other purchases.

If you live or work in the Los Angeles, you may well want to be earning rewards for it. Using rewards that are aimed at your local area makes this card by American Express something you may want to consider.

Locality is not the only thing attractive about this card, however. This card for L.A.ers has the zero percent introductory rates that look very good. For the first six months, you will pay no interest on any balances you carry on it. Not only no interest on your new balance but any balance transfers you make during the first ninety days will also be eligible for the zero percentage rates for the first six months. This is a great way to move some other credit card debt around and save the interest charges while you pay it down. Especially if you make a plan to get the balance paid off completely within the six months, you could save a lot of interest. After the initial six months is over, the annual percentage rate goes up but remains quite attractive. For purchases the rate will be somewhere from 11.24% to 18.24%. This depends on your credit rating and credit history as well as the credit limit of the card.

Cash advances on this card are charged a rate of 22.24% and so like most credit cards, using it for cash is rather pricey, especially if you don't pay off your balance each month. You will also pay a cash advance fee of 3% of the transaction amount (minimum of $5 and no maximum amount).

This card does not have an annual fee which makes it attractive. Some other fees you will find on the L.A. card are late fees. $19 is charged on late payments on balances under $400 and a late payment fee of $38 is charged for balances of $400 or more. American Express also charges a $35 fee if you go over your credit limit with this card.

Overall this card is a good, low cost card to use for the most part. It has the additional bonus of letting you earn rewards for spending money right here in L.A.
