| Review | The Blue Sky credit card offered by American Express has a great introductory offer of 0% interest for the first six months. This is an excellent beginning and depending on your particular credit history, you may qualify for the 12.24% rate after the introductory period is up. If you don't qualify for that, you can expect either 14.24% or 17.24% which may not be so attractive. The Blue Sky card is a rewards card. It allows you to earn rewards that are intended to provide you with free travel. These reward points can be used on any airline, any hotel accommodation or any other travel arrangements. You pay for your travel arrangements with the Blue Sky card and your rewards will credit you back for those purchases on your statement. There are no expiration dates for your travel rewards and because you can use them for any kind of travel, there are no blacked out dates to restrict your travel plans. There is also no cap on the amount of rewards you can earn with this card. This credit card allows for balance transfers and has an introductory offer of 4.99%. This is a very good rate and if you are carrying a balance on another credit card that charges more, you should seriously consider moving it over to this card. If you don't qualify for the lowest regular rate on this card though, you will want to think twice about carrying a new balance on it despite the great rate on the balance transfer. There is also a balance transfer fee on this card of 3% of the balance with a minimum charge of $5 and a maximum of $99. Other fees on this card are very average. There is a $19 fee for late payments on balances under $400 and $38 on balances over $400. There are fees for cash advances of 3% of the advanced amount and there is no maximum on that, so if you take out a large cash advance, the fee will be considerable. There are fees for dishonored checks and wire transfers as well, but these fees are all average. Overall, this is a card that has good introductory offers and if you qualify for the best rates it is a good card overall. The rewards you earn on the card are attractive and best of all they are easy to use. |
